The Crown of Honor Award Program is an award program in which any Nile Noble who is current in his membership dues may participate. Points are earned for service to Nile Shriners, our Shriners Hospitals, or other specified, Shrine-related activities. The number of necessary points, and the corresponding award, are shown on the “Crown of Honor Awards, Points for Qualification” page.
After the Basic Award has been earned with 500 points, bars of different colors, which are attached to the Basic Medallion, are awarded, until a Noble reaches 5,000 points. At that time, the Noble exchanges his Basic Medallion and four bars for a Ruby Medallion. Upon earning 7,500 points, the Noble exchanges his Ruby Medallion for an Emerald Medallion. Upon earning 12,500 points, a Silver Bar is awarded, which is attached to the Emerald Medallion. Upon earning 25,000 points, the Noble exchanges his Emerald Medallion and Silver Bar for the Diamond Medallion, which is the top-level award. Upon earning 50,000 points, a Gold Bar is attached to the Diamond Medallion. Upon earning 100,000 points, another Gold Bar is attached; 200,000 points, another Gold Bar is attached, and 300,000 points, the final Gold Bar is attached.
Crown of Honor awards are the property of Nile Temple. These awards should be returned to Nile Temple upon the death, demit or suspension of the participating Nile Noble. An agreement form to this effect is provided to all Nobles who earn the Basic Medallion. This form should be signed by the participating Noble and returned to the Nile office.
Points may be earned for activities listed on the “Crown of Honor, Codes, Points and Activities” page. Points for activities not listed may be awarded by the Potentate, at his discretion. When appropriate, activities will be added to the list, so that all Nobles may participate in that activity in the future.
Individual members are encouraged to submit their own points. However, the head of any unit or club, or a designated member, may submit points for members of that unit/club. Be advised, however, that designated members are not responsible for submitting points for non-unit/club activities. Each individual member is ultimately responsible for his own point submissions.
Points must be submitted within 90 days of the activity, on the most current Crown of Honor Point submission form. Completed forms should be submitted to the Nile Shrine office. (Forms may be submitted electronically, as an Excel or Word attachment. Please send to: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..)
Crown of Honor Awards must be earned by each Noble. Points will not be given away, and awards will not be traded or purchased from another Noble. Nobles who submit for points not earned will become ineligible to participate in this program.
Points accumulate from year to year and are recorded in the WEBFEZ database; the full amount for any award level need not be earned in any single year.
A Noble may inquire at any time as to how many points he has earned to date.
