Wow, here we are half way through the year! Time flies when you are having fun. Nile still is busy in July and August. There are many activities to participate in. Your imperial representatives will be in Houston for Imperial session from July 5th though the 9th voting on By-laws and new Imperial officers for 2016. During the time they are in Houston, a 4th of July parade will be happening in Sedro Woolley. We have been attending this parade for many years and it is a good one. We hope many of the units will attend and show your pride of being a Shriner.
The Nile Family Picnic is on Sunday July 19th, starting at 11:00 a.m. in our picnic grounds, featuring bouncy houses, pony rides, face painting, balloons, games, and for the “big kids” a car show.
Another potentate’s call parade is on Friday July 24th, which is the “Tour de Terrace“ parade in Mountlake Terrace. This is a rock’s throw away from Nile and we should all attend. Next on the docket is the Nile Golf Ball Drop and it will be held on Sunday July 26th at 2:00 PM at Nile for the benefit of Shriners Hospitals for Children and the tickets are only $5.00 per ticket and they are tax deductible. Balls will be dropped by a helicopter and there will be great prizes for the winners. We still need volunteers to sell these tickets, it’s for the kids.
